Founded by hobbyists and seasoned professionals, the Golden Triad Watchmakers Guild (GTWG) unites everyone in the Piedmont Triad who’s fascinated by the tiny, ticking universe inside a watch or clock.
Why We Exist
Watchmaking is the art of chasing perfection, knowing full well that one grain of dust or a missed drop of oil can stop a movement cold. We revel in that challenge. For us, horology isn’t about brand names or price tags; it’s about precision engineering, applied science, and the timeless beauty of mechanical ingenuity.

Guild Life Highlights Hands-On Workshops Strip, service, and reassemble movements with experts. Tool & Parts Library Borrow specialty tools and hard-to-find components. Mentorship Circles: Pair up with master watchmakers or guide a newcomer through their first build. Monthly “Tick-Talks ”Deep dives into escapements, lubrication science, finishing techniques, and more. Collector Show-and-Tell Share your latest restoration or grail piece—and the story behind it.

What is the Golden Triad Watchmakers Guild Auction
The auction is a live event—held once or twice a year—where collectors, hobbyists, and dealers buy and sell watches, clocks, parts, tools, and other horological items.
Who can attend the auction?
Anyone interested in watches, clocks, or horology is welcome! You don’t need to be a guild member to attend or bid.
How do I sell something at the auction?
Contact the Guild ahead of time to consign your items. We accept wristwatches, pocket watches, clocks, parts, tools, and related items. A small seller’s fee may apply.
Is there a cost to attend?
Yes $10 goes to the club to help pay for the Auction

No just the $10 to attend
What is the sellers fee
15% is the sellers fee which helps pay for the venue
Where and when is the auction held
The auction is either once or twice a year a summer auction and a winter depending on demand. Location Embassy Suites Greensboro NC
